What this is

The Weekly Case publishes fictional murder-mystery games: a free case every week, paid Detective Pass cases, and Case Night / Date Night kits. Every story, person and business in our cases is invented. Any resemblance to real people or events is coincidental. Cases are written with the help of AI and checked for fairness.

Using the games

Buying a kit or a Detective Pass gives you a personal, non-transferable license to play it with your own group. Please don't publish codes, keys or case content. Codes that are shared publicly may be deactivated. You can print kits for your own games.

Payments

Detective Pass subscriptions are billed by Substack (with Stripe). Kits are sold through our checkout partner, which acts as the merchant of record and handles sales tax/VAT. We never see your card details.

Refunds

If a kit doesn't work for you, reply to your receipt within 14 days and we'll refund it. Detective Pass subscriptions can be cancelled anytime in your Substack account; you keep access until the end of the paid period, and if you're unhappy in your first 14 days, write to us and we'll refund it.

Privacy

The game runs in your browser. Your progress, answers and codes are stored only on your device (local storage). We don't use advertising cookies or trackers. We use cookieless, aggregated visit statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to know how many people play. If you subscribe to the newsletter, Substack handles your email under its own privacy policy. If you buy a kit, our checkout partner handles your payment and email.
